About Reflexology

Reflexology is a non-invasive complementary therapy that aims to support your health and wellbeing through therapeutic touch.
The theory of Reflexology is that there are reflex points on the hands, feet, face and ears that correspond to all the organs and systems of the body. By stimulating the reflexes it encourages the body to release any imbalances and restore homeostasis.
What is reflexology?

The benefits of Reflexology include
* Relaxation
* Improved mood
* Release of tension
* Aids sleep
* Promotes wellbeing

In addition to being a great way to improve general health, there have been developments in Reflexology in recent years focusing on specific health issues with very exciting results.

RLD
Reflexology Lymph Drainage is the work of Sally Kay. This technique focuses on stimulating the lymphatic reflexes thereby causing an effect on the lymphatic system in the body. It was primarily developed to help women who were suffering with lymphoedema of the arm following treatment for breast cancer and is supported by research.
I was lucky enough to be trained by Sally a few years ago and I am passionate about the benefits RLD can bring.

Facial Reflexology
Facial Reflexology is a lovely alternative to foot Reflexology. Pressure is applied to the reflex points on the face using both fingertips and gua sha tools. As well as relieving stress, tension in the muscles of the face is released and the skin looks and feels refreshed.

Hot Stone Reflexology
Hot Stone Reflexology combines traditional foot Reflexology with heated basalt stones. The result is a wonderfully soothing treatment that is perfect on a cold winters day.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy which should be used alongside conventional medicine. Please consult your GP if you have any health concerns.
